Port Vila Airport in Vanuatu, which handles international flights and serves over 27,000 passengers each month, required a CCTV modernisation project to strengthen daily operations, improve situational awareness, and enhance overall security management.
The airport selected Dahua Technology based on its comprehensive product portfolio, reliable solution capabilities, and proven experience in delivering similar security projects.
CHALLENGES
Rising Security Risks Increased Pressure on Daily Airport Operations
The airport faced multiple security threats, including theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access, creating greater risks for daily operations and the management of critical areas. These issues not only increased on-site security pressure, but also raised higher requirements for the airport’s overall protection capability.
HIGHLIGHTS
Intelligent Search and Full-Area Visibility Improved Airport Security Efficiency
With AcuPick, operators can quickly locate target video clips and identify people based on their attributes, making searches faster and more accurate. At the same time, the project achieved comprehensive 24/7 airport coverage through single-sensor and multi-sensor cameras, reducing blind spots and further strengthening overall security visibility.
Unified Video Management Enabled Centralised Monitoring and Efficient Operations
The project integrated DSS Pro, EVS storage, video wall, and the NKB5000 controller into a unified video management system, enabling centralised access to monitoring resources and coordinated control. This not only streamlined live viewing and daily monitoring workflows but also further improved airport security management and operational response efficiency.
VALUE
A Future-Ready Airport Security Platform
The system was designed with future expansion in mind, allowing seamless integration of new cameras, analytics capabilities, and additional airport security applications. Its strong openness and scalability provide a reliable foundation for the airport to continuously upgrade its security system and respond to evolving operational needs.

By combining AcuPick with people counting, license plate recognition, and face recognition, the system can track passenger-related events more efficiently and significantly reduce the time needed for information retrieval and incident investigation. This not only improves operational efficiency but also enhances the airport’s overall situational awareness and security response capability.
