Dahua Technology Signs MOU to Boost Urban Digitalization in Uzbekistan

Dahua Technology, a world-leading video-centric AIoT solution and service provider, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the municipality of Tashkent city, the capital of Uzbekistan. The collaboration aims to revolutionize urban transportation infrastructure and facilitate the advancement of digital innovation within the region.



The official signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Azizkhon Umarkhonov (Deputy Mayor of Tashkent and Governor of Almazar District), Mr. Bob Chen (Dahua VP and President of Global Business), Mr. Luo Teng (General Manager of Dahua Uzbekistan), as well as other representatives from both parties.


Mr. Chen extended his earnest welcome to the delegation, highlighting Uzbekistan’s impressive infrastructure development and efficient investment environment in the past year. He emphasized Uzbekistan’s vital role as a strategic location of the company in Central Asia, and stated that Dahua is dedicated to supporting Tashkent in its journey towards a digitally transformed and technologically advanced future.


“Dahua will utilize its expertise in the AIoT field and deliver tailored solutions through ongoing cooperation with local partners, contributing to the city’s efficient operations and enhancing the region’s overall digitalization level,” said Mr. Chen.



During the discussions, both parties delved into the intricacies of urban infrastructure and the significant role of intelligent and efficient traffic systems. Since the development of traffic signal control systems in 2012, Dahua has formed ten major product series that are widely used in diverse traffic scenarios around the world. With focus on Tashkent's urban characteristics, Dahua is set to introduce a customized traffic signal system, addressing traffic pressure, improving road safety, and creating a more efficient and interconnected urban environment.


"As we recognize Dahua's globalization strategy and ambition to empower diverse industries with digital technologies, we strongly believe that our partnership with Dahua is the right move. It is fully in line with our goal of driving technological advancement and transforming Tashkent into a smarter city," explained Mr. Umarkhonov.



The distinguished delegation also gained deep insights into Dahua’s comprehensive product portfolio, smart solutions and innovative business expansion in emerging fields such as machine vision, thermal imaging, etc., with future visions to further deepen cooperation in traffic management, energy saving and other areas.


Dahua established the Uzbekistan subsidiary in 2018, with 19 staff members providing localized products, solutions and services for regional customers. Going forward, Dahua will continue to pursue customer success, carry out efficient collaboration with partners, and assist cities and enterprises in digital innovation, enabling a smarter society and better living.
