March 30, 2022

Last week, we featured in our blog one of the founders of HDCVI technology Mr. Yin Jun. He shared some insights into how this industry-leading coaxial technology started and came to fruition. This week, let’s check out one of our beloved and loyal customers, Megamix, as their General Director Mr. Kurmanov Galymzhan shares their story about their memorable experience with HDCVI.

1. What comes to your mind when you hear HDCVI technology?

I really like that this standard is constantly evolving. With each new version, several revolutionary solutions appear that greatly affect the market and change the approach not only to sales of security systems, but also to the concept of building and projecting video surveillance in general.

2. What was your first impression when you first learned about HDCVI? What made you choose HDCVI products at that time?

For many years, we have been actively promoting equipment powered by HDCVI technology. This is primarily due to the fact that this standard has many significant advantages over its competitors. Many video surveillance systems nowadays are still built using coaxial cable. The ideal and affordable solution is to upgrade old video surveillance systems to HDCVI equipment. The options for HDCVI equipment is huge! For any purpose, need and budget, you can always find the right solutions.

3. Are there any interesting stories that you can share about your experience with HDCVI?

It was a very funny situation. We once held a seminar in Karaganda (Kazakhstan), and in the demonstration area we had an HDCVI DVR and a 2MP HDCVI video camera. All of these devices were connected via 4 coils of coaxial cable (length: 800m). During the demonstration, some guests were shocked! They could not believe that the video signal could be transmitted over such a distance. Some approached the devices, looked for some kind of amplifiers, studied the cable, looked at the settings, etc. It was all made possible because of HDCVI.

4. What changes did the HDCVI technology bring to your company and business?

A lot has changed in our company since we started promoting HDCVI equipment. We constantly study the product varieties, consumer needs, device appearance, etc. We then predict: how the market will perceive this or that model or technology; how to promote it, apply it, and integrate it in projects; and how to present it to the client. This is an ongoing process that requires certain qualifications and skills. But this does not mean at all that HDCVI is difficult to understand. In fact, everything about HDCVI is simple and easily accessible.

5. What motivated you to use HDCVI? Compared with other similar products, what are its advantages?

Artificial Intelligence, which is trending right now. Who would have thought 10 years ago that today we would use an HDCVI DVR with face recognition? And I believe that the introduction of deep learning algorithms into an analog DVR is a big, revolutionary and significant event in the history of security systems.

6. In your experience, what practical problems have HDCVI products and solutions solved? Or what value was realized?

HDCVI is the flagship of the analog video surveillance standards. Dahua constantly invests its intellectual and financial resources in the development of this technology. Being the first is always a great achievement, and HDCVI is no exception. Let's have a quick look at its breakthroughs: the first HDCVI-based analog high-definition DVR; the first audio, video power and control transmission over coaxial cable; the first to support 4K resolution with a video surveillance camera over coaxial cable; the first IoT platform based on HDCVI DVRs; and the first to integrate advanced AI-based video analytics in HDCVI DVRs.

7. What would you like to say on Dahua HDCVI’s 10th anniversary?

On behalf of my company, Megamix, I sincerely congratulate Dahua Technology for the 10th anniversary of the HDCVI technology. I wish you all the best and may you attain new achievements, introduce new unique technologies, and certainly win and maintain leadership against competitors. Let every beginning be easy, and every finish be marked by victory!
