Complex and challenging

Securing projects of this kind is always challenging, but with the additional complexity of interconnecting 175 different buildings and controlling the comings and goings at 3 separate entrance and exit points, product versatility was the key to success. The client’s requirements included:

• Wi-Fi device support
  There was no need for complicated cabling, but Wi-Fi coverage to support every device on-site was imperative.
• Visitor identity verification
  Visual intercom was needed to enable residents to confirm the identity of visitors through the screen, preventing strangers from entering the site unchecked.
• Remote door (un)locking
  Remote unlocking means there is no need for residents to go downstairs to collect their visitors in person (making it safer, especially at night).
• Emergency alarm links
  Residents can call the security center (for incidents such as sudden illness or fire) with one click through the indoor extension, shortening emergency response times.
• Anti-tailing prevention
  Each unit door needs intercom authorization to open, preventing strangers from following legitimate residents and visitors into the public areas.
• Automatic number plate recognition
  Monitoring vehicle entry and exit is an essential element for keeping the complex secure.

More than 3,500 apartments

With more than 175 buildings and 3 separate entrance and exit points across the complex, the new system had to cater to the needs of several thousand individual residents and deliver a high level of reliability at all times.
