Free DSS Care Licence Extension
DSS continues to form an important part of security and surveillance systems across the UK and Ireland.
As recognition to the important part DSS plays in safeguarding people and property as well as our commitment to providing a smooth customer experience, we are pleased to inform you that all existing DSS Care Licenses, will be able to request for a 12 month extension —at no additional cost. You have until April 1st, 2026 to submit for your Care License extension request via:
Eligibility & Upgrade Requirement
Please note that the Free DSS Care Licence Extension is only available for DSS Pro/Express v8.6 or later.

For customers with expired care licences the year extension will be applied from the date of the application.
For customers still within the initial warranty period will have the year extension added to the end of their current warranty period.
What is Care License:
All Licensed DSS Express and Pro software (unless part of a bespoke customised version) comes with a 3 year Care Licence, allowing you to enjoy new software versions, patch updates and software support. Your Software will still continue to function as normal outside of the 3 years Care Licence but you will no longer be able to enjoy any of the new features/updates or software support as you did before.
What This Means for You:
- Apply for an extension to your DSS Care Licence before April 1st 2026 to receive a year extension for your Care Licence
- With this extension, you’ll continue to receive software updates, and access to key services for an additional 12 months, even if your original 3 year Care Licence period ended earlier
