With the development of the monitoring industry, the market demand for panoramic monitoring is gradually rising. With wide-angle field of view, clear details, and incredible AI-powered functions, the Dahua panoramic devices can significantly reduce the number of cameras needed to cover a large scenario, making it increasingly popular in various industries. This year, the Dahua Panoramic Surveillance solution has upgraded its offerings in order to accommodate more requirements of end users. To enlighten us more about this, here’s Mr. Bowoo, Product Manager at Dahua Technology.
Hi Bowoo! Can you tell us what the Dahua Panoramic Surveillance solution is all about?
Hello! Sure. In a nutshell, the Dahua Panoramic Surveillance solution is designed for scenario applications that require a 360°, 270° and 180° field of view for situational awareness. With its all-in-one design, up to 8K Ultra High Definition resolution, wider coverage, excellent night view, better image correction, and rich AI functions, it is a perfect surveillance solution that can replace multiple conventional cameras, reduce complexity, and save installation and maintenance costs. Most importantly, our panoramic surveillance solution can be applied in large-sized, medium-sized and small-sized scenarios.
What's new about this year's Panoramic Surveillance?
We have launched more products this year, like the Mini Hubble and Full-color Duo series. Compared to the S3 Hubble, the Mini Hubble is compact, lighter, quicker, and easier to install. The WizMind Full-color Duo series cameras have excellent night effects. In addition, the image effect of panoramic cameras has been greatly improved through various upgrades including F1.0 aperture, dual 1/1.8’’ CMOS sensor and superior distortion correction technology. Also, upgrades this year include more intelligent functions such as Video Metadata, People Counting and more.
Can you briefly introduce some of its new intelligent functions?
Of course. I believe it’s noteworthy to introduce the high and low altitude mode and EPTZ. The high and low altitude mode is available in the Hubble series and Multi-sensor 180° series. Users can set the installation height on the configuration interface in order to apply the corresponding algorithm for high or low altitude to ensure the detection accuracy. What’s more, the EPTZ function can realize the linkage between the panorama and the electronic PTZ, ensuring that both the panoramic and detail views are captured and various display modes are supported in order to meet customers’ requirements.
Can you give an example of an actual scenario application?
One good application of the Dahua Panoramic Surveillance solution is in a large area like resorts and squares where crowds often gather during holidays. These places are prone to overcrowding which we all know poses safety risks like stampede. Thus, it is vital to monitor human flow in these scenarios at all times. The crowd density function of the Dahua Panoramic Surveillance solution allows setting of crowd threshold according to user’s preference. When the number of people exceeds the preset threshold, an alarm will be sent to remind relevant staff to control the people flow in the scene.
