Declaration of Metal Conflict-Free of Dahua Technology

80

As a world- leading video-centric smart IoT solution and service provider, Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd. has been practicing the social responsibilities of corporate citizen, insisting on ethical procurement, and promoting the sustainable development of the industrial chain.

The armed conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries (Angola, Burundi, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia) have attracted widespread international attention. The exploitation of conflict minerals (mainly: cassiterite [tin], coltan [tantalum], wolframite [tungsten] and gold) from the region may not only involve serious human rights violations such as environmental damage and forced labor, but also directly or indirectly become a source of funds for armed forces and contribute to the escalation of conflicts.

Dahua believes that it is our corporate social responsibility not to purchase or use conflict-free minerals. Dahua will do its utmost to ensure the procurement and use of non-conflict minerals in the supply chain to the commercially reasonable extent.

In accordance with the framework process of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, Dahua conducts continuous and comprehensive due management of possible risks in the supply chain, and assists suppliers in purchasing and using conflict-free minerals with the help of relevant resources such as the Responsible Minerals Plan provided by the Responsible Minerals Initiative ("RMI"). We require suppliers to:

1.      execute the Declaration of Metal Conflict-Free to ensure that the products provided to Dahua and its affiliated companies do not contain conflict minerals or metals;

2.      complete the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template ("CMRT"), and effectively disclose the relevant information of the country of origin of minerals, smelters and refineries used, and their downstream supply chains;

3.      establish their own due diligence plan and formulate the policy of conflict-free mineral procurement; and

4.      provide other documents proving that the products meet the requirements of conflict-free minerals according to Dahua’s requirements.

We will conduct regular investigation on suppliers. If the information provided by any supplier cannot be verified or any supplier fails to take effective measures to comply with Dahua’s conflict-free mineral policy, Dahua reserves the right to cease cooperation with the supplier.
