Dahua Supports Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust with CCTV Solution to Enhance Safety and Operations
Dahua Technology, a world-leading video-centric AIoT solution and service provider, supported Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust by providing a CCTV solution to enhance security at its Variety Shop, a vital fundraising hub. This allows the charity to allocate more resources toward caring for and rehoming dogs rather than infrastructure. The initiative improves both safety and operational efficiency while supporting Dogwatch’s mission.
Dogwatch Sanctuary Trust is a registered charity based in Canterbury, New Zealand, dedicated to rescuing, caring for and rehoming dogs that have been abandoned at pounds or surrendered from private situations. Established in 1982, Dogwatch operates without government or council funding, relying instead on donations, fundraising activities and the support of around 80 volunteers. From its five-acre, purpose-built adoption center in Bromley, the organization provides kennels, outdoor yards, exercise paddocks and customer facilities, while its secondhand Variety Shop in New Brighton contributes an important part of its income.
With the vision of seeing “Every Dog in a Loving Home,” Dogwatch continues to improve lives through rescue, rehoming, outreach and education. Its work extends beyond sheltering dogs: the team also supports owners who may be struggling to provide adequate care by offering food, bedding, crates and practical advice.
To support this mission, Dahua generously provided a CCTV solution to help upgrade the security of Dogwatch’s Variety Shop. The solution comprises two DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-ANZ-S2 cameras, four DH-IPC-HDW3667EM-S-IL-ANZ cameras and one DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-4KS3 network video recorder.
The upgraded CCTV system significantly enhances safety and improves management efficiency for Dogwatch. By strengthening security at its Variety Shop, the solution helps protect a key fundraising site that supports the charity’s day-to-day operations. This allows Dogwatch to focus more of its resources on what matters most: caring for dogs, supporting volunteers and helping animals find loving homes.
As Matt Maclean, Business Development Manager at ADT Security, noted, supporting Dogwatch with a creative security solution was an easy decision, as the charity’s funds are best directed toward caring for dogs rather than infrastructure. The project was completed with the support of Dahua and its local partner Clear Digital, helping keep Dogwatch’s dogs, staff and volunteers safer.
