Back to School in Lam Dong: Dahua Technology Helps Fund 'Empower Schooling 2026' in Vietnam
Dahua Technology has co-funded Empower Schooling 2026 (Tiep Suc Den Truong 2026), a back-to-school charity program held on August 22, 2026 in Cat Tien 3 Commune, Lam Dong Province, Vietnam. Delivered together with the Lam Dong CCTV-IT Association and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Cat Tien 3 Commune, the program provided gift packages to 80 disadvantaged students and 15 families in financial difficulty, and donated teaching equipment and textbooks to two local secondary schools.
For the children who received them, the packages meant starting the academic year with a school bag their families would have struggled to fill.
Supporting Families at the Hardest Point of the Year
Dropping out of school is rarely the result of a single decision. More often, it is the cumulative effect of several costs—uniforms, notebooks, textbooks, and transport—all arising in the weeks before the term begins. In rural communities, this period often coincides with a lean point in the agricultural year, causing school attendance to decline.
Empower Schooling 2026 was designed to ease this pressure. Eighty students received packages containing school supplies and learning materials, while 15 households facing financial hardship received daily essentials and direct financial assistance. The initiative focused on removing the practical barriers that could prevent a child from attending school.
Equipping Classrooms, Widening Access
Alongside support for individual students, the program strengthened the learning environment they return to each morning. Gia Vien Secondary School received a printer and 60 sets of textbooks, while Tien Hoang Secondary School received a television and 60 sets of textbooks.
A television and a printer may be modest pieces of equipment, but in a rural secondary school, they can mean the difference between a lesson confined to the blackboard and one supported by videos, digital materials, locally produced worksheets, and examination papers. The same applies to textbooks: 120 sets can pass from one cohort to the next for years, benefiting teachers, students who were not present at the ceremony, and future classes.
This is where the program connects to Dahua’s own work. Digital inclusion begins in classrooms where students first encounter digital learning. The engineers, installers, and technical specialists who will design and maintain Vietnam’s digital infrastructure all started somewhere. In provinces like Lam Dong, that starting point is a secondary school with (or without) a working screen and a full set of textbooks.
Helping a student complete the school year and giving a teacher better tools can have effects that extend for decades. Dahua takes this long-term view of corporate responsibility, measuring a contribution by what it continues to support years after the photographs are taken.
A Local Partnership Within a Global Commitment
Empower Schooling 2026 was conceived, organized, and delivered locally. The Lam Dong CCTV-IT Association and the community's Youth Union led the effort, with school leaders, teachers, system integrators, technology partners, and individual donors, each contributing to the cause. Dahua’s role as principal sponsor was paired with local leadership rather than substituting for it. Decisions about who needed help and what type of support they required were made by people who live and work in Cat Tien 3 and understand the needs of its schools. All contributions were documented and reported to each participating partner.
That model — local partners identifying the need, Dahua providing the means — is how Dahua approaches social contribution across its markets. The ceremony closed with students, families, teachers, and partners together on the school grounds, which is a reminder that a program of this kind depends less on any single donor than on a community willing to organize itself around its own children.
