Dahua Technology Optimizes Millacero’s Remote Concierge Service in Chile
Dahua Technology helps Millacero enhance its MillaRemo remote concierge service in Chile by integrating video surveillance, access control, video intercom, and centralized management. The solution enables residential communities to improve security, streamline visitor and parcel management, reduce dependence on onsite personnel, and lower operating costs, while providing Millacero with a scalable platform to support its continued expansion.
Overview
As residential communities across Chile seek safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective ways to manage their properties, Millacero SPA is helping drive the transition toward digital building management. Through its MillaRemo remote concierge service, the Chilean system integrator provides centralized, technology enabled concierge and security services for residential buildings, combining professional remote monitoring with intelligent video surveillance and access control.
Working together with a local partner, Dahua Technology provided Millacero with a scalable remote concierge ecosystem designed to replace labor-intensive processes with connected, traceable, and continuously monitored operations. This successful collaboration began approximately three years ago and has supported Millacero as it expanded its service across Greater Santiago and beyond.
Challenges
Traditional concierge operations in Chile rely heavily on onsite personnel, with 24/7 staffing accounting for a significant portion of residential building maintenance expenses. In some communities, these costs can represent up to 70% of common building fees. At the same time, relying solely on onsite personnel may create security vulnerabilities caused by distraction, human error, or intimidation during critical incidents.
Rapid growth in e-commerce has created another challenge. Residential buildings must manage an increasing number of parcel and delivery arrivals while maintaining secure and convenient access for residents, visitors, and service providers. Conventional visitor logs and manual procedures also provide limited traceability, making incident investigation and access auditing more difficult.
For Millacero, delivering these services remotely introduced additional technical requirements. Continuous connectivity and power availability are essential, while existing buildings often contain legacy infrastructure that must be integrated into a modern platform. Most importantly, the system must enable remote operators to respond quickly and effectively when security incidents occur.
Solutions
To address these requirements, Millacero built its remote concierge infrastructure around Dahua’s integrated video surveillance and access control technologies.
Dahua IP cameras provide continuous monitoring of building entrances, perimeters, common areas, and other critical locations, supported by intelligent detection capabilities that help operators identify potential events proactively. Access control and video intercom devices enable residents, visitors, and operators to manage building entry more securely, while digital records improve traceability compared with conventional manual logs.
At the management level, Dahua DSS Pro serves as the centralized video management platform, allowing Millacero to supervise multiple buildings through a unified system. This centralized architecture helps remote operators manage surveillance, security events, and access-related information while maintaining standardized procedures across different properties.
The solution also supports resident-oriented functions such as mobile visitor authorization and QR-based invitations. Combined with Millacero’s MillaBox smart parcel management solution, the ecosystem addresses the growing demand for secure and convenient delivery management.
To strengthen service continuity, Millacero incorporates connectivity redundancy, including backup communication, together with power protection to help maintain operations during network or electrical interruptions.
Results
The Dahua-powered solution has enabled Millacero to expand remote concierge services while improving both operational efficiency and residential security. The service is currently operating across approximately 55 buildings, while further expansion is already planned.
By reducing dependence on permanent onsite staffing, the remote concierge model can lower community maintenance expenses by approximately 20% to 40%, providing tangible economic benefits to residents.
At the same time, centralized professional monitoring, intelligent surveillance, and digital access records strengthen accountability and provide communities with greater visibility into building activity. The platform's scalability is also supporting Millacero’s long-term growth. As demand for remote concierge services continues to increase in Chile, the company expects the model to become an increasingly important component of modern residential property management.
“We are receiving more and more clients requesting this service, and we believe that in five years we will have close to 600 buildings with this service operating and with this technology as core,” says Felipe Maturana, Founder and CTO of Millacero.
